Bernadine Winstead Warner

Bernadine Winstead Warner, 88, died peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones.

Bernadine was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She was an active member of White Bluff Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where she held multiple leadership roles and developed many cherished friendships.  She was a teacher at Royce Reading Center and Savannah Country Day School.  She was a longtime member and past president of P.E.O. Service Organization.  Some of the things she enjoyed most throughout her life were spending time with her family, playing bridge with her friends, visiting her homeplace in Roxboro, N.C., and taking cruises with her "cruise group."

Bernadine is survived by her husband, Charles H. Warner, Jr. and children, Loring W. Wright (Gary), and Charles H. Warner, III (Margery), and seven grandchildren, Harrison, Addison (Emily), Benjamin (Larissa), Molly, Happy, Rebecca, and Gavin and her siblings, Jane W. Winstead, and Isaac Addison (Butch) Winstead (Hilda), and her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Barbee, Ms. Linda Hill, Ms. Ginger Gibbons, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Daniel Winstead, Sr., her brother, Lewis Daniel Winstead, Jr. and sister, Jessie Winstead Nicholson Jones.

The family will receive visitors at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel on Friday, November 5th from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.

A memorial service, celebrating her life, will be held at White Bluff Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the church social hall.
